Review highlights

Based on 6,719 reviews

Reviews of Kareem’s highlight its authentic Mughlai cuisine, praised consistently for rich flavors and quality preparations, particularly the kebabs and biryanis. The restaurant’s ambiance is often described as elegant and cozy, reflecting a regal Mughlai charm that complements the dining experience. While portion sizes receive mixed feedback—some find certain dishes insufficient for sharing, especially the biryani—this is often attributed to the premium location and pricing. Service is generally regarded as professional and efficient, even during busy periods. A minor concern noted by patrons is the additional charge for packaging leftover food. Overall, Kareem’s is recognized as a popular, well-managed spot offering a satisfying blend of taste and atmosphere in Kolkata.

Delicious mughlai food available here. Beautiful atmosphere and professional behaviour makes the place more attractive. Some may feel the food portion is not sufficient for some kind of dishes, but according to me location of this restaurant doesn't afford the owner to sell food in a very cheap rate.

It's the best. Ambience and food everything is very nice. We had malai chicken, naan and chicken and special kadhai biryani. All food taste were amazing. The only thing is special biryani portion was very less not enough for even 2 person. Apart from that everything was good.

I recently visited Kareem's, one of Kolkata’s most iconic and old Mughlai restaurants, with my friends, and the experience was truly heartwarming. We went to the Park Street outlet, which has a regal, opulent, and aesthetically captivating ambience that perfectly reflects the royal charm of Mughlai dining. The interiors, though slightly compact, create a cozy yet elegant vibe. Since we visited on a Sunday afternoon, the seating was slightly limited. The food, however, made up for everything. We started with Gilafi Kebabs, which were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. For the main course, we tried Mutton Keema Biryani, Mutton Dum Biryani — each dish was rich, aromatic, and bursting with authentic Mughlai flavors. The quality of spices and tenderness of the meat were outstanding, making every bite delightful. In desserts, we enjoyed Shahi Tukda and “Firni” both of which added the perfect sweet ending to our meal. The only downside was that by the time we went, many items like mocktails and sodas were already unavailable, which was a little disappointing. Service was average, and the staff were decent but could have been more attentive. Overall, Kareem is a paradise for Mughlai food lovers. Despite the slight service drawbacks, the exceptional taste, quality, and uniqueness of the dishes make it worth a visit. I would definitely recommend it for anyone craving authentic Mughlai cuisine in Kolkata.

Kareem's, though unaffiliated with the Delhi branch, delivers equally delicious food that lives up to the name. The restaurant's popularity is evident from the waiting queues during weekends, yet the service remains commendable. Despite the crowded environment, the staff efficiently manages the rush, ensuring a smooth dining experience. The food is undoubtedly the highlight. I tried the Tandoori chicken and mutton dishes, both of which were exceptionally flavorful and left a lasting impression. Overall, Kareem's is a must-visit for its mouthwatering cuisine and well-organized service, even during peak hours.

Kareem’s never disappoints when it comes to flavor and authenticity. The Chicken Lasooni Tikka was absolutely delicious – tender, juicy, and packed with smoky garlic flavor. It's definitely a must-try! The Kareem’s Special Chicken Tandoori was another highlight – perfectly cooked with a nice char on the outside and bursting with spices. The biryani had great taste overall, but the potato wasn’t boiled properly, which was a slight letdown. Still, the aroma and spice level of the biryani were spot on. The service was good, the ambiance was comfortable, and the star dishes made it worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Mughlai flavors.
